Sha’Carri Richardson continues to captivate the world not only with her athletic prowess but also with her bold fashion choices. At the 2024 Olympics, her dazzling, themed nails became a standout feature. Known for her signature manicures, Richardson embraced patriotic flair with a mix of coffin and stiletto nail styles, all meticulously crafted by New York-based nail artist Kelly Phan. A celebrated figure in the beauty world, Phan—whose work has graced the pages of Vogue and Allure—was personally chosen by Richardson to design a series of press-on sets for the Games.
For the Opening Ceremony, Phan created a red, white, and blue set adorned with American flags, jeweled French tips, and sparkling embellishments to reflect national pride. For the 100M semi-final, Richardson wore a vibrant neon stiletto set, featuring a mosaic of hand-placed beads and gemstones. Phan’s artistry and passion were evident in every detail.
In a more understated moment, Richardson wore a soft purple and lavender set during the 100M final, where she was seen in a prayer pose before clinching the silver medal. The colors harmonized beautifully with the USA track and field uniform.
For her final look, Phan designed a fierce golden set with tiger-striped tips and gold studs on a nude base, symbolizing Richardson’s drive for gold—a goal she achieved in the Women’s 4x100m Relay. She proudly wore this set while attending the Men’s Basketball Final between France and Team USA.
Kelly Phan’s visionary designs for Richardson have redefined Olympic nail art, blending architecture, symbolism, and glamour into unforgettable statements.
