James Katsipis, a celebrated fine art photographer from the Hamptons, is bringing his signature coastal imagery to Montauk with the opening of his first gallery, James Katsipis Photography, on May 23.
“Opening a gallery in Montauk has been my dream for 20 years,” Katsipis said. “I’m excited to welcome everyone to see my life’s work in this new space.”
Located at 742 Montauk Highway beside the Montauk Chamber of Commerce, the gallery will feature rotating exhibits every two months, highlighting Katsipis’ breathtaking photography of sunsets, seascapes, and more. Visitors can also explore a curated shop offering customizable large-scale acrylics, collectible prints, and unique items like custom skateboards and surfboards.
Katsipis aims to foster community connection through photography seminars and private guided tours around Montauk.
To mark the gallery’s debut, he’s launching a special project: a limited-edition Zine inspired by his Montauk adventures and “Graintauk” analog film series. Available only at the gallery, the first 50 copies will include a numbered, signed print.
